Bayonne, NJ; June 4, 2009…American Security Systems, a leading provider of security and life safety systems in the Tri-State region for 30 years, has introduced Video Doorman technology into the New Jersey market, and has named SRA Security Systems the state’s dealer for the innovative system.

Video Doorman remotely allows residents of non-doorman buildings to receive and securely store packages when they are not home. Introduced in the New York market a year ago, the system has been installed in multiple New York residential buildings.

“SRA Security Systems is an experienced and highly-respected company that has served thousands of New Jersey customers since the early 1980s,” said Larry Dolin, founder and president, American Security Systems. “They know the market, have customers throughout the state and understand the importance of quality service.”
The Video Doorman system is easy to install, use and economical to operate. Since the system digitally records all deliveries and resident retrievals, it provides ironclad documentation of these events. A delivery person arriving at the building interfaces with the Video Doorman panel if the tenant is not home. A live operator, using cameras and 2-way voice communications, greets the delivery person and verifies the intended recipient is a resident. The remote operator lets the courier in and follows them every step of the way with video and voice communication. Deliveries are placed in a secure package room, remotely unlocked by the live operator, for later pick-up by residents. The system operator can also dispatch authorities in the event of a problem, e.g., if the courier doesn’t leave. In addition to allowing deliveries, the system can also be used to escort residents from the building entry to their floor, providing added comfort and security. Video Doorman also provides exceptional cost savings, at only about $1.00 per tenant unit, per day.

“Video Doorman is an impressive technology and we are already seeing interest in New Jersey for buildings without a doorman, and those with a doorman that would like to reduce a shift,” said Rob Attisano of SRA Security Systems. “Particularly during these economic times, companies must look to reinvent themselves and find new avenues for growth, which is why SRA is teaming with American Security Systems.”

SRA Security Systems has New Jersey state master electrician and fire alarm licenses. Among other regions, Attisano says that Hoboken, Ft. Lee, Union City, West New York, Newark, Jersey City, Bergen County, Essex County, Hudson County and Ocean County will be exceptional areas of the state for installation of Video Doorman.
American Remote Video, which markets and sells Video Doorman, is a company of American Security Systems.
